This morning as I was reading this passage of scripture, I got a pen and paper and began writing down the Thou Shalt and Thou Shalt Not's. Here is what it says to me:
1. Thou Shalt not see thy brother's Ox or his Sheep go astray and hide thyself from them..
(we should not ignore the fact that others need us in time of family distress. But we should be available for assistance). (This could also mean spiritually backsliding also)
2. Thou Shalt not see thy brother's Ass nor his Ox fall down by thy way and hide thyself from them....
(When others are in financial or physical need we are not to look the other way).
3. The woman Shalt not wear that which pertaineth to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment.
(In our Pentecostal denomination we apply that to outward dress code but it could also be applied to adult perversions).
4. ....Thou Shalt not take the Dam with the young. (Don't bring in the old false gods and witchcraft)
5. Thou Shalt let the Dam go and take the young to Thee to prolong thy life. (Train up a child in the way it should go)
6. Thou Shalt make a battlement for thy roof. (Do everything you can to preserve the life of another).
7. Thou Shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds. (You don't want tares among the wheat or to cause confusion).
8. Thou Shalt not plow with an Ox and Ass together. (To not be unequally yoked).
9. Thou Shalt not wear a garment or diverse sorts, such as woolen and linen together. (You want to dress comfortably for the season. Wear all wool when it is cold. And linen when it is hot.)
10. Thou Shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture. (We are to have a distinction from the world, set apart in the four corners of the world.)
Thank God for His love and mercy and for allowing me to have another day.
