My maiden name is Kelley - that is obiviously an Irish name. (from the O' Ceallaigh or Mac Ceallaigh clan ). First found Southwest of Dublin. So this past May my family went on a missions trip to Dublin Ireland. All six of us plus the one on the way. We had a blast. My Maternal Grandpa (Loudye) Chilton always told us that we were scotch-irish and cherokee. I did a search for the name Chilton and it is of English of the Northumberland region (tip of England). The name Chilton means child settlement. His momma was a Sharp and that name is from Scotland (Peebleshire). The name Sharp means sharp or keen. They were one of the leading families on the Scottish/English border. So I guess that is where the Scottish ancestry comes in. I don't know where the Irish comes in on the Chilton side. Also English from (Voyles or Viles), Voils (which was grandma (Bannie Elgar ) Chilton's maiden name). My dad ( Deward Keith Kelley)'s mom (Altha Omeeta Southern Kelley) was a Southern (this also is a English name first found in Suffolk.) They were Lord's in Sotherton. Back one more generation was Lena Southern Prince (Prince first was found in Yorkshire England - the name Prince means first). Lena's dad Henry was 1/2 Indian we are not sure what type of Indian he was. I married Timothy Mark Peter who says that he is German, but when I did a search on the name Peter - it also was English (The name was first found in Lincolnshire. It was quite a distinguised name). Mark's mom's maiden name was Cook - also an English name first found in Essex - the name was given to Cooks or people who sold cooked meats or worked in an eating house. Mark's dad's mom was a Zimbelman which indeed is a German name or Jewish name from Prussia. (meaning Carpenter or one who works with wood). The Zimberman (also zimmerman) were a noble family with great influence. My daughter Marisa married another German (Jacob Swartzentruber) - the name Swartzentruber is an Amish name here in the United States. The name translates to mean "Seller of Black Grapes". Marisa and Jake made us proud grandparents to lil' Israel Jacob Swartzentruber on Sept 27. 2009.
Thank God for His love and mercy and for allowing me to have another day.
