Can't see the forest for the trees!

So many times we don't realize how good we really have things.  We always want that better job, bigger house, nicer car, etc.  Can never seem to be happy where we are or with what God has given us.  I am thinking of my daughter Melissa for one.  People have encouraged her to leave home and go help  her sister with the baby in KS.  But Melissa had it made here.  She had a teaching job as a sub in our public schools getting to work with the special needs children.  She was beginning to work with the Carl Perkins for the prevention of child Abuse center.  She went with me on our missions outreach to the Nursing Homes, Senior Centers and Assisted Living Facilites and also to the elderly and shut ins in our community.  She and I were beginning an Etsy boutique called LisAndLis making hand crafted items.  She was the first of my daughters to leave home when she was 18 she went as a cook to the Cayo Deaf Institute in Belize, then when she returned from that mission, she was called on to be a caregiver 24/7 for my 93 year old grandmother in Bloomington Indiana.  So it isn't like she never got to do anything.   She was also getting free art lessons and teaching Children's Church at a missionary church where I am pianist for on Sundays.  So she was very well used of God in our community.  I know she will be used whereever she goes, but the void is here with me.  I think as she gets older she will look back and see how good she really had it and probably will wish that she hadn't thrown it all away.  But then again, God can turn it all for her good and perhaps He will open big doors for her and let her find true happiness in doing her own things and not just what I had helped her find to do with her life.
Thank God for His love and mercy and for allowing me to have another day.
